        The Story of KiZmet

KiZmet started with two friends that re-connected after a 10 year hiatus and have been inseparable since.

I’ve always thought Liz was cool – “Uber” if you will. She’s kind of a hippy, recycles, makes her own compost, speaks fluent French and always does things a little “better” than the norm.

Me? I grew up in the restaurant business as a chef. I know "Kitchen Spanglish" and respect people like Liz.

One of the coolest things about Liz was that she always had essential oils around her house.

I would admire them often and ask what they the purpose of each one. Of course, she not only knew their purpose, but knew all of the components of each one and how they benefit the body, mind and spirit.

She's a plethora of knowledge.

Fast forward to 2020, I decided to go back to school at the age of 50 to become an Esthetician.

It’s something I had wanted to do for decades, but never really had the opportunity.

I wanted, no, needed to do something different, rather than remain in the restaurant business.

Around the same time that I graduated, Liz decided to start a side gig making candles, perfume, and

face & body products that incorporated her knowledge of essential oils. I sampled her face washes and was instantly hooked. They are literally the best products that I’ve ever used for my face.

Then I had an epiphany. I thought that I was going to get Liz to make me an entire facial line

that I can use on my clients when giving them facials. What a fabulous idea but she declined, and I very quickly learned why. I was baffled at the tremendous amount of research required to create products with enough care to release to the public. Little did I know what I was getting myself into.              

No wonder she said “no”. 

This was HARD work.

The chemistry behind it is intense. The hardest part was figuring out which oils go well together. However – that part I did have in my favor. Having a culinary background, I was able to think of the smell and flavor of the oils and was knowledgeable enough to know what flavors went well together.

In comes epiphany #2 – why not take her love of essential oils, and my love of food and combine them – so we did. We made sure that there was food in each of our mixtures.

Now – Introducing KiZmet – the perfect name combining both Kathy and Liz.

Destiny and Fate combining to form this brand. We are a business of two, crafting small batch skincare recipes using pure, simple and natural ingredients with a focus on aroma, spiritual energy, and skin benefits. We combined essential oils, food and our researched backed knowledge and beliefs of the multitudes of benefits that these offer the skin and body from the inside out.

Liz and I want to empower women with the utmost confidence in their appearance and the feel their very best, all day, every day.
